Winston Pines
Winston is passionate about urban culture, working with youth and sharing his story. These passions are all intertwined through pioneering two motivational crews, including Legacy One. Over the past 13 years, DJ’ing, producing music and dancing have provided him opportunities to share his passion with youth throughout Canada, US, UK, Malta and South Africa. His motivation is the potential of seeing both young and old find their voice, pursue their dreams and live their fullest life.
Jacee Pines
Jacee started writing spoken word in 2006 after living in Brooklyn, New York for 5 years. Working with kids and youth in the urban environments of Brooklyn, Harlem and the Bronx strongly influenced her writing style and themes. Jacee is passionate about social justice, cultural consciousness and purpose filled living. These themes surface through her honest and heartfelt point-blank poetry. Jacee joined Legacy One as an urban spoken word poet in 2017. She was inspired to join a collective of voices purposed to influence youth to live the best version of their lives in the face of every struggle.
Greg Denie
Greg is well known and well-respected for his ability to speak from the heart. It is this heart, in combination with courage and his relationship to personal struggle, that allows him to craft and present poems that are sincere, direct, and always deeply human. As a poet, motivational speaker and arts-educator, Greg is able to foreground his own personal history, his relationship to loss, personal struggle and pain in order to give his poetry and speeches the sense of authenticity, humility and humanity that allows him to connect with audiences all over the world. Greg is a poet and speaker who believes that the power of a well-told, honest story can be a tool for personal and communal transformation.
Chantel Denie
Music has always been a significant part of Chantel’s life. Growing up, she studied classical music but always aspired to write and play her own music. She discovered R&B and hip-hop music in high school and was instantly in love with (what was for her) this new sound. As a singer-songwriter her sound is influenced by: Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys and Emeli Sande. She writes from a place of vulnerability and is fiercely passionate for people to know their true value, worth and purpose. With music being a source of healing, inspiration, and connection in her own life, she desires to use her music to do the same for others.
